Sensor pixel pitch
Pixel pitch is the physical spacing represented by each active pixel along a sensor dimension.
pixel pitch = sensor width / horizontal pixel countFor example, a 36 mm-wide sensor with 6000 active horizontal pixels has a 0.006 mm pitch, or 6 µm.
Why pixel pitch matters
Photivra uses pixel pitch to convert physical image-plane distances—such as projected object size, defocus, diffraction, subject motion, and camera shake—from millimetres into sensor pixels.
Model limits
The calculation assumes the supplied physical sensor dimension and pixel count describe the same active dimension. It does not infer photosite geometry, microlens behavior, color-filter layout, or effective resolution.
